Gospel Reading: Luke 24:13-35
That very day, the first day of the week,
two of Jesus’ disciples were going
to a village seven miles from Jerusalem called Emmaus,
and they were conversing about all the things that had occurred.
And it happened that while they were conversing and debating,
Jesus himself drew near and walked with them,
but their eyes were prevented from recognizing him.
He asked them,
“What are you discussing as you walk along?”
They stopped, looking downcast.
One of them, named Cleopas, said to him in reply,
“Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem
who does not know of the things
that have taken place there in these days?”
And he replied to them, “What sort of things?”
They said to him,
“The things that happened to Jesus the Nazarene,
who was a prophet mighty in deed and word
before God and all the people,
how our chief priests and rulers both handed him over
to a sentence of death and crucified him.
But we were hoping that he would be the one to redeem Israel;
and besides all this,
it is now the third day since this took place.
Some women from our group, however, have astounded us:
they were at the tomb early in the morning
and did not find his body;
they came back and reported
that they had indeed seen a vision of angels
who announced that he was alive.
Then some of those with us went to the tomb
and found things just as the women had described,
but him they did not see.”
And he said to them, “Oh, how foolish you are!
How slow of heart to believe all that the prophets spoke!
Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things
and enter into his glory?”
Then beginning with Moses and all the prophets,
he interpreted to them what referred to him
in all the Scriptures.
As they approached the village to which they were going,
he gave the impression that he was going on farther.
But they urged him, “Stay with us,
for it is nearly evening and the day is almost over.”
So he went in to stay with them.
And it happened that, while he was with them at table,
he took bread, said the blessing,
broke it, and gave it to them.
With that their eyes were opened and they recognized him,
but he vanished from their sight.
Then they said to each other,
“Were not our hearts burning within us
while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?”
So they set out at once and returned to Jerusalem
where they found gathered together
the eleven and those with them who were saying,
“The Lord has truly been raised and has appeared to Simon!”
Then the two recounted
what had taken place on the way
and how he was made known to them in the breaking of bread.
My cousin arrived the other day and stayed at home for two nights. She brought some clothing for us and let me select first which one I would like to have. There is a Gap jeans that fits well for me. It is colored dark blue, perfectly fitted for me at thirty by thirty size. Thirty waistline and thirty leg length. I like this brand though because of the casual yet elegant and quality style of the clothing like the pants. Made of imported quality material from Egypt and so I just made a good choice of having a new pair of pants.
It was a great family bonding time the other day. We had a get together at one specialty restaurant located at the nearby mall. It is a restaurant that caters seafood – crabs, shrimps, kinilaw ( tuna in vinegar and spices) . Crabs were cooked deep fried in garlic sauce and the shrimps in lemon sauce. Two servings each for ten persons. Yummy, finger-licking good as always:-) Everyone loves the seafood servings. though a bit pricey but the taste is distinct ad delicious as always. Thanks to our dear cousin for this delicious food treat for the whole family.
Its weekdays again and I am busy attending to the needs of my house guests who arrived from the other city. It is their only available time to visit here before going to the province tomorrow. My other relatives arrive early this morning on board the Toyota RAV4 SUV vehicle. They left early at three o’clock in the morning for a two hour travel going here in the city. This kind of vehicle is much suited for family because it can give comfort for long travel. Aside from that, it can carry baggage with spacious compartments at the back. It is a short family gathering that is not too often because of each places of living.
I have been working at home since this morning. It is a general cleaning day because I have coming visitors this week. Working for five days in a week and my only time at home is Saturday and Sunday. It is a double time actually. Need to finish it because I have no more time tomorrow. My sister and me take turns in doing the household chores from cleaning and arranging beginning from the kitchen, living room, toilet and the bedroom. It is physically draining but I have to do it. Anyway, it is worth seeing a home neat, clean and orderly.
I forgot to post this one last new year. Anyway, it is not yet late. I had a two lipsticks that I bought from a friend of my sister. I actually had no plans of buying a new lipstick because I still have some. When I saw this candy store lipsticks by Clinique, I got interested because its seldom being sold here in the city. Good timing because some of my lipsticks are already old. Its time to throw away already. I bought two – a bright pink red and a light pink brown. Now, matte finish look is in the market and to some other professional women who work and work everyday.
Our office held a capability building seminar in an exclusive resort today and it is a successful activity for all the employees. It is a great privilege to be part of a team who has a significant role as a government agency. I really have a great day today aside that I am able to unwind this weekend. We are being house at an exclusive resort where they have good amenities for functions like this seminar. It is equip with good sound system like wireless microphones, speakers, video systems and all. A state of the art sound technology that can be available at preamp at guitarcenter.com Great weekend indeed and hope to have another seminar again.
My sister purchased for me the other day a pair of gray colored legging pants by Uniqlo. This is one of my favorite brand actually as I believe in its quality as far as clothing is concerned. It is a legging made of ultra comfortable material. What I like about it is that it is stretchable, easy mobility, nice form fitting at the rear and in front and the leg length is just fit on me that I do not have to rolled it up. It creates a sleeker look when I paired it with a nice fitting top of colors white, red, cream or black. Sexy feminine look while wearing a pair of legging pants.
It is another new week and a new day. I still have some hang over from the long weekend of the Holy Week. It was a relaxing yet busy break for me spending all my time at home. It seemed to be not enough and I still needed some more non working days (just kidding, how I wish). Anyway, its Monday again. I have to report for work early today because it is the tax filing deadline. No more extensions and the office have to close at exactly five o’clock in the afternoon.
Gospel Reading: John 20:1–9
♥ On the first day of the week,
Mary of Magdala came to the tomb early in the morning,
while it was still dark,
and saw the stone removed from the tomb.
So she ran and went to Simon Peter
and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and told them,
“They have taken the Lord from the tomb,
and we don’t know where they put him.”
So Peter and the other disciple went out and came to the tomb.
They both ran, but the other disciple ran faster than Peter
and arrived at the tomb first;
he bent down and saw the burial cloths there, but did not go in.
When Simon Peter arrived after him,
he went into the tomb and saw the burial cloths there,
and the cloth that had covered his head,
not with the burial cloths but rolled up in a separate place.
Then the other disciple also went in,
the one who had arrived at the tomb first,
and he saw and believed.
For they did not yet understand the Scripture
that he had to rise from the dead. ♥
