Happy Birthday to my favorite brother in the whole world!
Thank you for my great childhood memories. Here’s to many more memories to come. Happy Birthday to the world’s greatest brother!
You’ve always been there for me, and I will always be there for you. Happy birthday, brother.
I am proud to call you my brother, both today and every day.
I never got a choice in whom to have as a brother, but if I had, I would’ve picked you.
Happy Birthday to my mother’s second favorite child.
You are not only a wonderful brother, but also a wonderful friend.
It was awesome the way I grew up. I laughed with you, I cried with you, I fought with you, and I kicked your ass too. I just had to remind you. Happy Birthday.
Some of the mugs at home needed a back seat already after quite some time of usage. I was glad to received a gift certificate/coupons as a frequent shopper of a nearby mall here so I got a chance to buy free items at the dry goods section. Good timing because I was planning to buy some kitchen stuffs. These mugs were my remembrance. I like to take my morning coffee using these new ceramic mugs.
Skin is the largest organ of our body that should be taken care of especially of the climate here where the days are mostly sunny. I use this SPF 30 Dri-Blok super light, clear feel sunblock. It is very water and sweat resistant. So even if I stayed for long hours under the sun I am protected and would not feel sticky of my sweat. Sun protection until summer time that is coming up again in just a few months from now.
It was raining hard yesterday that started early in the evening. Some streets in the downtown area were flooded and I thought I could not arrived home early. It was still raining when I got home. With this kind of season, I am always craving for something hot for dinner. This fish broth in vegetables was just a perfect one. Malasugue fish boiled with onions, tomatoes and added with fresh pechay vegetables. What a hot & healthy dinner!
The weather this time is unpredictable. It can be very hot during the day and rains a lot at night. If your health is sensitive to climate changes, you could be then susceptible to flu.Do you have a runny nose? Maybe even a slight fever? Feeling under the weather? All these can be signs of the seasonal flu. But don’t take this seasonal flu too lightly as it can be as deadly as any other form of sickness! Studies have shown that there are 63,730 annual deaths for influenza and pneumonia (NVSR Sep 2001); estimated 20,000 deaths from flu (NIAID). It is also the 7th leading cause of death in 1999 and 2000 is “pneumonia/influenza.” (CDC) . Flu-related deaths can result from pneumonia and from exacerbations of cardiopulmonary conditions and other chronic diseases. Deaths of older adults account for more than 90% of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza.Health is the only problem with the seasonal flu. Financial costs are also a major concern with the cost of health care and hospitalization increasing over the past few years. There are five main options that people use to fight the flu — vaccines, antivirals, antibiotics, over -the-counter treatments, and non-medical alternatives. But of course a healthy diet and exercise are also essentials for keeping your body in tip-top shape.
I love eating fish like this tilapia. It is a fresh water kind of fish with habitats including shallow streams, ponds, rivers or lakes. I bought these in the wet market near home and I never left buying without having the tilapias cleaned thoroughly. I immediately marinated the fishes in salt, pepper, calamansi and soy sauce for hours. This way the tilapias would be tastier and the spices were absorbed thoroughly. I deep fried it in hot cooking oil for 15-20 minutes until crisp golden brown in color. The cooking should be in a very hot oil so that the fish skin wont stick in the pan and you could turn each side without the hassles of peeling off. These fried tilapias were serve with hot & sour dippings of vinegar, chili and soy sauce. Best eaten with freshly cooked rice. The crispy taste from frying is deliciously savory that you would always want for more.
The light at the living room at home was no longer in function and it would no longer turn-on. I purchased a replacement in the nearby mall this weekend. I choose this energy saving bulb of Philips brand. It is only 8 watts and it is not consuming more electricity compared to other bulbs. I almost forgot to bought this because I was in a hurry to go home. Good thing I remember to buy it so I went back to the electrical supplies of the js mall. It is very cheap and when i tested its lighting, it is clear and bright. My brother immediately attached it to the receptacle and fix it well so that it would function immediately. Now my living room is well ventilated with this energy saving light bulb that I bought.
Its early morning and I have to wake up already to prepare for our trip back home. The flight is at nine o’clock in the morning so we have to be in the airport an hour before the schedule flight. Things were already packed up before hand and I have to secure the specialty foods that I bought for hand carry purposes. A van for rent is hired and the distance from home to airport is about an hour drive. I do not know how many in kilometers. Good that we arrived safely ahead of time. I have my breakfast at the airport cafe. Full breakfast meal because I am feeling hungry already. We still buy some food presents in the airport. One vacation that we siblings enjoyed. Until the next trip.
I like my Crocs slippers that I bought a month ago. I specially brought it inside my luggage for this four day vacation because I knew that I will be having lots of walks and outdoor adventures. Wearing slippers is very comfortable for my feet. It helps it relax as my feet are involved with lots of walks from here to there. The color is brown so it can match at any lind of outdoor wear that I have like bermuda shorts, cdapri pants, jeans or micro mini shorts. Flipflops are really good for some walking.
Its been a rushed decision for us to take a flight going for an out of town vacation together with my sister and brother. It was actually about our beloved aunt who passed away and we need to visit her family as our way of remembering her generosity, kindness and all that she had when she was alive and we were still kids then. We take an early flight today at six o’clock in the morning. No more enough time to sleep last night because I have to attend to many things like packing my suitcase and important things to bring for a four day trip. It is a very exhausting and tiring day but worth a trip.
